Weill Cornell Medicine is committed to providing a working and learning environment in which we can understand and honor differences, be respectful and open to diverse cultural perspectives, and strengthen equity in opportunity. Weill Cornell Medicine does not discriminate on the basis of age, ancestry, color, disability, gender identity or expression, genetic information, HIV/AIDS status, military status, national origin, race, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, pregnancy, protected veteran status, or any other bases under the law, in its activities, academic programs, admission, and employment.
The Office of Institutional Equity works to support these efforts by receiving, investigating, and resolving reports of protected status discrimination, harassment, and sexual and related misconduct.
If you are a Weill Cornell Medicine faculty or staff member, student, volunteer, postdoctoral associate, appointee, affiliate, volunteer, applicant, vendor, or contractor who reports protected status discrimination, harassment or sexual misconduct, the Office of Intuitional Equity will:
- Advise: We are committed to informing you of the process, including your rights and options for a formal investigation.
- Assist: We will work to support you to ensure you have continued access to educational and employment opportunities. Supportive measures can include, but are not limited to, no-contact directives, changes in class or work schedules, emergency housing, counseling, and academic support.
- Act: We will take reasonable and necessary action to prevent discrimination and harassment and respond promptly and thoroughly, whether we learn about the issue directly or indirectly, regardless of whether a formal complaint is filed.
